Insurance & Annuities

Our Approach

Our primary goal at Townsend Financial Life Management is to help people achieve financial security. We specialize in financial and retirement income planning designed to help people protect what they’ve earned and ensure it lasts.

Reaching your financial goals involves protecting your assets as well as managing them to reach your financial goals. At Townsend Financial Life Management, we believe that this can best be achieved through a balanced and customized approach to asset and risk management.

Through our planning process we can identify risks you may have and help you to identify solutions to protect against those risks. As independent advisors we are able to offer a full range of what we believe are high-quality insurance and annuity products through third-party insurance carriers designed to meet each client’s individual goals.

An annuity is a contract between you and an insurance company in which you make a lump-sum payment or series of payments and, in return, receive regular disbursements, beginning either immediately or at some point in the future.

There are three types of annuities – fixed, variable, and indexed. Each has its own level of risk and payout potential. Based on your personal financial situation, goals, and objectives, we can help you  determine if and what type annuity is appropriate for you.

Life insurance

There are many different types of life insurance that are available to meet all sorts of needs and preferences. We work with each of our client to evaluated their personal financial situation and carefully determine the most appropriate solution(s) whether it be temporary (Term insurance) or permanent life insurance (Whole life, Universal Life, Variable Universal, Indexed Universal).

Long Term Care

The cost of long-term care can place a burden on you and your loved ones and can also quickly drain away assets meant for a secure retirement.
Health insurance programs such as Medicare and Medigap do not generally cover long-term care expenses, and Medicaid has a "spend down" element that may force you to liquidate assets to qualify. See for additional information.

Insurance Planning

While you can't predict the future, you can help protect yourself and your family by learning about unexpected events that commonly affect many and then plan for these surprises accordingly.

Through our planning process we can help you identify areas where you may benefit from coverage and recommend products that fit your needs. Whatever life sends your way, we believe you'll feel better knowing you are helping protect yourself and your loved ones financially.

Before buying any insurance, consider the terms, risks, charges, expenses, cost of riders and investment options.

Guarantees apply to certain insurance and annuity products and are subject to product terms, exclusions and limitations and the insurer's claims paying ability and financial strength.

Investing in a variable annuity or life insurance involves risk of loss - investment returns and contract value are not guaranteed and will fluctuate.

Variable annuities are offered only by prospectus.  Carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of variable annuities before investing.  This and other information is contained in each fund’s prospectus, which can be obtained from your investment professional and should be read carefully before investing.  Guarantees are based upon the claims paying ability of the issuer.

Indexed annuities do not directly participate in any stock or equity investment.  Clients who purchase indexed annuities are not directly investing in the financial market. Market indices may not include dividends paid on the underlying stocks and therefore may not reflect the total return of the underlying stocks; neither a market index nor any indexed annuity is comparable to a direct investment in the financial markets.
